Robert Makłowicz

Robert Makłowicz (born 12 August 1963 in Kraków, Poland) is a Polish journalist, food critic, writer, publicist, traveler, and entrepreneur. He is best known as the creator and host of the culinary travel program "Makłowicz w podróży". He was born to Włodzimierz Makłowicz, a sailor, and Beata (née Preiss). His family background includes Polish, Ukrainian, Armenian, Hungarian, and Austrian roots. He attended the V Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Augusta Witkowskiego w Krakowie and later studied law and then history at the Jagiellonian University, though he did not complete either degree. Around 1989–1990 he lived in the United Kingdom, working for several months as a laborer in Kingston upon Thames.
