
Jack Grimm (September 25, 1910 – October 12, 2000) was an American oil executive, adventurer, and amateur ocean explorer best known for organizing and funding early expeditions in the 1980s to locate the wreck of the RMS Titanic. A successful businessman with a passion for maritime history, Grimm used his own resources to mount search missions in 1980 and 1981 that employed emerging deep‑sea sonar technologies. Although these expeditions did not ultimately find the Titanic, they were among the first to apply systematic acoustic surveying techniques to the deep Atlantic and helped pave the way for later scientific searches.
